For years I periodically took art classes after my regular work day. Then in about 2019, inspired by a colleague, I joined a monthly mail-order watercolor club. After retiring from full-time work, I’ve started painting more seriously, in acrylic. A great inspiration for me has been my painting group that meets and paints together twice a month. 

These days I paint, teach English as a Second Language, garden, and sail with the Muscle Shoals Sailing Club; recently, my love of painting and my love of sailing have merged into a series of sailing paintings that give me great joy. I’ve grown up on Lake Wheeler and Lake Wilson in north Alabama, and I’ve loved painting local water images.
